Nomad-Where
Direction and Choreography by Ginny Jiang
Anchored in a critique of patriarchal-capitalist structures, this work situates masks as signifieds that articulate the alienation of subjectivity. It illuminates the mechanisms of control sustained through anonymity and interrogates the construction of identity and the unstable negotiations among doubt, conformity, and consent under regimes of surveillance and the gaze. Within the shared performative space, this proximity work recognizes and interrogates the structural biases embedded in nearness and in the relationship between spectator and performer.
